Everyone knows that Barry Bonds beat Hank Aaron's record a few days ago. Congratulations Mr. Bonds, yada yada yada. Now, the question is this...Should he be considered the new all time Home Run record breaker? He did steroids, so should he be acceptable as this title or was his steroid use something that could break his chances? Does he deserve it or does Hank Aaron still hold the record in your mind simply because Barry Bonds used steroids to up his game?
I've been watching Bonds for 3 or 4 years now. I'd like to think that we should let him have his record. Drugs or no drugs, he still hit the ball. Drugs don't change that. And after watching ESPN, I learned that AT&T field, the Giant's home, is a harder field to hit a home run in than the field that Hank Aaron played in was. He also has never admitted to using steroids, only that, if he did he didn't know about it.
Bonds will never be the true home run king. Aaron will always be the true champ until it's broke by someone without needles sticking out of his arms.
