I know a lot of these debates have been posted, but I was wondering...Do you consider racism to be nature (they're born racist) or do you believe that it has to do with nurture (their parents teach them to be racist). The reason I ask this is because I see people who are racist when their parents aren't. And then I see people who are not racist when their parents are. Does that mean they could have been born that way since nurture had nothing to do with it? Or was it nurture that taught them to be racist? I wonder.
I think that racism is caused by nurture. Their surroundings and the society they were raised in caused them to be racist. For example, before 13th Amendment which was the abolishment of slavery, people were extremely racist towards African-Americans but it was normal. After the 13th Amendment, racism began to drift away but it continued to exist simply because it was implemented into the people's mind in the past. Due to how they were raised, some may view racism as normal and view their race as superior. However, many people nowadays are inclined to accept all races because of how they were raised. I think that if the parents of those who are racist aren't racist, they must have probably implemented racism in their mind due to the people they encountered and how they viewed societies. When you're born, you don't automatically hate a race. When people start telling people that racism is normal and that they're superior to other races, people may start to drift off and contemplate on the thoughts of racism.
Definitely nurture. If the son of a long line of white racist Klansmen is switched at birth and is raised by an African American family, do you think he'll hate his new family?

Damn, I'm tired. My posts are becoming shorter and shorter, and less coherent.
Nurture. You are like the people you spend time with. At least, until you've either bought all of their ideas or made up a few of your own from experience.
It is not born with you. You are taught it by the environment and surroundings around you as you grow up. If your parents are raving racist scumbags, there is a pretty good chance that you will be also. Sad.
My parents are highly democratic and liberal, and personally, I don't agree.

That being said, I hope social security fails. So in the long run, those [censored] hats wont get any money at all. And they'll coming begging to me. I'll just laugh at them and kick em to the curb. Useless.

Exactly - you made your own decisions. Everyone's opinions and life is shaped by the ones around them. You are born clean and without these opinions. You are influenced by everything around you and int he end you can make your own decisions or go with the other sheep.
