Is the question at hand (A) 'should women be in the military', or (B) 'should women be allowed in comabt arms positions'?

You asked A, but it seems like people are debating B.

Then there is the question of should they be ENLISTED? What about being COMMISSIONED?

A joke comes to mind when i saw this thread.

Woman have more of an emotional aspect to them. Emotions when killing someone and seeing death around you is not a good thing.
If they are going to cook for the men while out fighting then i accept that. Fighting well no way. THERE WOMAN!!!!!!!!!
If a man hits a woman in my country he will be charged. If a woman hits a man then the man will maby be charged. lol. So even the law recognizes woman are INFERIOR to men. They have no place around the discussion table the pub the golf course or at war.

Have you fought for your country? Because there are women out there who have not only fought for their country, but died for their country. Died. You are not only being naive, you are also insulting the sacrifice of all military women, whether they are apart of your country's military or another country's. How can you deny what they did was brave and great?

You obviously don't know anything about law either. Just because men are prosecuted and found guilty for abusing women more than women are charged for abusing men doesn't mean that this is because the law recognizes one sex as being superior/inferior to the other. If the law did recognize one sex as being inferior, there would be no possibility of prosecution on the other side.

What this means is that there is gender discrimination going on. When an officer goes to a house for a domestic violence call and he sees that the woman has a black eye, I have no doubt he'd be quicker to arrest the man. And when an officer goes to a house and sees that the man has a black eye, I have no doubt he'd be more hesitant to arrest the woman. Such is the nature of stereotyping. It does neither gender any good.

Women in the military.
SIMPLY PUT.........NO,NO,NO.
Nothing for the physically inferior sex (FACT) to do in the military besides running errands,bed pan duties,stress relief by hand or oral for the boys,real chefs assistant (men are the better chefs ie Iron chef as an example) and of course laundry duties.
These job possibilities are not actually necessary when men are at battle so send them women home where they belong.

And you don't think men are affected by that too? No human being, man or woman, is immune from the psychological scarring that comes with witnessing or playing a role in such disturbing events. It's called PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and it knows no boundaries. It affects people of every age, race, AND gender.

Words can't express how disgusted I am by your total lack of respect for women as a whole, but to dishonor the ones who have given their lives to keep even morons like you safe - to say I'm appalled doesn't even begin to describe it.

Whether serving as soldiers, pilots or medics, there have been countless instances of women saving lives out on the battlefield. Given that quite a few of them are living proof of this, I'm sure that many of our MEN in the military would be pretty pissed at you right now.

To say it takes a special person to willingly enlist in the military is probably the biggest understatement one can make. That kind of courage is one that few human beings, men and women, possess - and those people, regardless of sex, deserve everyone's appreciation and respect. I don't know how you can so outrageously inconsiderate of anyone willing to put themselves on the line for you like that.

Damink, like you, seems to be incapable of making arguments without insulting other people (in his case, the women in the military). I find it absolutely hysterical that you can make remarks about Spirit's lack of civility when you yourself are resorting to playground insults. The humor at Damink's expense was his own doing, he was making himself look like an idiot all by himself - Spirit was just reporting the facts.

Women may be built differently, but that doesn't mean they aren't capable of performing the same military tasks, if adequately trained. We're well past the 1930s, most of us have intellectually evolved since then, and have the sense to realize that women are competent and capable human beings who can contribute to society just as much, and at times, more than us guys can in some ways. You not being accepted into the armed forces is between you and your recruiting office - not us. People don't join the army for recognition, they do it to make a difference. There are quite a handful of soldiers who aren't happy with our idiot president, you know why they joined? Because they feel it is their duty to fight for their country, regardless of the stupidity behind the reasoning, or who is in-charge.

That would if anything, prove Spirit's point that while the police may be a bit more inclined to arrest the male involved, the law still doesn't see males as superior, or else females wouldn't be held responsible for their actions as they are.

Such debate needs to be carried out using facts, reasoning, and common courtesy. When you and Damink start saying such disrespectful things, that's when it becomes personal - not when Spirit defends accordingly, and uses reason to combat such pathetic excuses for arguments.
