The Roman Catholic Church is the most powerful christian based church in the world. Half of all self-proclaimed Christians in fact Catholic based. Yet the Catholic church is often viewed in a negative light...even more so by protestants than non-believers imho.

What's your thought on the Catholic Church.
My mom is a Catholic and I went to a Catholic church until I was fourteen, but I left the religion for a different one. It's not the church I dislike, but I disagreed with a lot of what the Catholic church says and does.
Sorry bout that,

1. We Catholics got it right!
2. The reformation was a disaster.
3. When some decided to part from us.
4. Perhaps they were not of us?
5. Perhaps God wanted them to part, and start a new branch?
6. I believe that the protestants, are a good church, and have good intent in their hearts, when they aren't lining their pockets with donations, not all, just a select few.
7. But tend to go over board when attacking from whence they came.
8. Much of the bases for their beliefs are *Catholic* based.
9. You can take them out of *The Church*, but you can't take, *The Church Truths* out of them.
10. Their *Universal* ~ *Catholic*.
11. All this and a *Bag~O~Chips* right here on *DEBATEFUL*!

I would love for someone to show me that Catholic church in the scriptures. It isn't there.
Sorry bout that,

1. Catholic means, Universal.
2. And no its not actually in the Bible, in either the Catholic Bible, or The Protestant Bible, of King James, though he had a *Great Name*.
3. I look at Protestants as *Little Brothers*, new kids on the block, and love them all.

I am not a fan of protestant religions for the same reason I don't like Linux...too many forks. Protestants will continue to fork...even recently over gay marriage churches have split from their mother churches. It's imho detrimental for such division in religion...yet I realize that in a way it's also positive.

And Boogy you are right...the bible doesn't mention Catholicism. But did you know the word "bible" itself is a Catholic word and that "bible" doesn't appear in the bible itself. You should consider that. The bible you study and adhere to is itself a Catholic mechanism.
Sorry bout that,

1. All Christian Religions can trace their roots back to *The Catholic Church*.
2. There's no way out of that.
3. Rome is now the *Center of the Universe* or *Universal Church*.
4. It was Jerusalem beforehand, but the *Torch* was removed to Rome.
5. And has been there till this day.

Religion is easy. The Catholic church is a religion.
I prefer to have faith over religion; anyone can act religious and follow rules and all that, but it takes real guts and a strong soul to have faith.
I couldn't care less about the Catholic church or any other.

1. Being apart of *The Catholic Church* is a good thing.
2. Going it all alone, is very difficult to say the least.
3. *Lone Ranger Faith* is not ever a good idea.
4. Being in a *Church* is far better.
5. Get into a *Church* and get baptised is my advise.

The word bible comes from the greek root word biblos and means nothing more than book. So when we speak of the bible we are speaking of "the book."

The text of the bible says absolutely nothing about the catholic church and it actually tells people to avoid some of the things the catholic church has at its core such as men called "father" in a spiritual sense, forbidding marriage for those men, the elevation of Mary, etc. These are things that are either not found in the New Testament or are forbidden in the new testament. I have always wondered how these things came about as part of the Catholic faith.
