You worry me when you sound like lefty who wants to tear up the constitution, allow gov to steal profits and usurp private industry all in the name of class warfare, psudosocialism and the redistribution of wealth.

A bit extreme in your rhetoric don't you think?

...fuel our economy.

Prove it...Wal-Mart is the #1 employer IN THE WORLD.

Maybe you haven't spent enough time researching the company, it's practices, and how it REALLY effects the AMERICAN economy. The constitution as far as I know applies to AMERICANs not the Chinese. Wal-Mart shouldn't be allowed to take AMERICAN money and jobs and hand them over to China.

If Sam Walton was still alive I truly believe he would be APPAULED at what his company has become.

Quote:
Of Wal-Mart's 6,000 global suppliers, experts estimate that as many as 80 percent are based in China.

And we have laws against monopolies. Companies like Standard Oil and the Bell Telephone company were split up and the positives to the economy were EXCELLENT. We now have dozens of phone choices and different competiting gas companies. Wal-Mart has grown to a level so powerful that they could CRIPLE the US economy if they so choose.

And I want to requote what I actually said.

Quote:
I do think companies like Wal-Mart should be obligated to do more for the country and have a responsibility to the nation.

I don't see where you read "wealth distribution" from that. One easy way I could see Wal-Mart helping America is by keeping more manufacturing jobs here. Government could EASILY pass laws saying a company cannot import more than X percent of their products. We already have lots of trade laws similar to that but Wal-Mart and the uneven trade agreements we have now are reminiscient of why America broke free of the British. King George was forcing us to buy HIS goods at HIS tax rate...Wal-Mart is doing worse by exporting our nations wealth to China one sale at a time.

China is America's biggest threat and Wal-Mart is just the enabler.

Are you a believer in Reaganomics and his famous "trickle-down theory"? With Wal-Mart it doesn't trickle down...it's a massive pipe to China. That in no way helps America. If you care more about China then I can see your point. When respected liberatarians like Ron Paul speak about the New World Order...Wal-Mart is the company that is at the top of that list for a perpetrator.

I guess I am the forum liberal, but I don't go for socialism, and I never have. It is too problematic, and it does not represent what this great country is all about.
But I am used to this stuff. Other liberals and I get accused of this stuff a lot. I have found that no matter what I say, I am supporting socialism and going to hell, etc., etc.
Ehh, well,
Pookie
