Bank chief Mervyn King raises spectre of British recession
Quote:Britain faces two years of economic pain and could sink into recession, the Governor of the Bank of England has said in a stark warning to the nation. Britain faces two years of economic pain and could sink into recession, the Governor of the Bank of England has said in a stark warning to the nation.
Mervyn King gave notice of a further squeeze on living standards, forecasting that inflation would climb to 3.7 per cent and remain high for two years. “The nice decade is behind us,” he said.

Damn it of course it is behind us because our industry is down! And still thanks for being frank with us! And yet I can't but wonder why our government and especially Gordon Brown keep sitting on hands?!

Quote:Yet within hours of this stark assessment, Gordon Brown staked his survival on the economy. He said: “I ask, and indeed expect, to be judged by this test: our stewardship of the British economy and building a lasting prosperity by releasing untapped potential.”

Why did he do it only now after King began to speak about unavoidable recession? What you've been doing for a year as PM, you [censored]!? Absolutely NOTHING has been done to solve the problem! Why the hell? Looks like Brown simply doesn't care! As if we live in Britain and he lives somewhere else. That's no good! Down with this government and PM!
It appears as if we may be forced to accept the Tories as a government if we wish to try and stop the recession or at least minimise it's effects.

Gordon Brown is an excellent chancellor but a terrible PM
