If I were an independent female voter, I would be completely insulted. If I were an independent female voter, the odds are I was for Hillary. The odds are that I found Hillary to be competent and supportive of women's issues. The odds are that I would have been deeply saddened by Hillary's loss. The odds are I would have been leaning towards McCain until the Democratic Convention. The odds are I would have listened to Hillary and been swayed into the Obama camp. The odds are when I found out Palin was on McCains ticket I would have been insulted. I would have been insulted at the obvious pander. I would have been insulted that a woman of Hillary's caliber had not been chosen. I would have been insulted that he picked a woman who is so out of touch with womens issues.
Thankfully I'm not an independent female voter, but I sure do know a lot of them, and this is their gripe. They are very heated that a woman like Kay Bailey Hutchinson wasn't chosen. They are insulted by this choice and they are redoubling their efforts to elect Barack Obama.
The left, especially the media run a great risk as they attack her and her family personally.
Backfire
The smell of gun-powder is already wafting through the air.
Obama did a good thing, saying her family is off limits...but for political reasons.
He realizes that if he overtly supported this tactic when he whines and cries about every little criticism of him would make him a blatant hypocrite.
Also, he can afford to drape himself in mock self-righteousness when he knows the DKos and the MSM will do it for him anyway.
All this sniping by the left doesn't bother me.
It's what they do no matter who it is,
and it will eventually work against them.
The media, which was so coveted at one time by the Obama camp (and visa versa) has now come full circle to serve as a liability rather than an asset.

Quote:Seriously Stoner, all political bullshit aside for a moment, you would be comfortable based on her experience to have her as the leader of the free world?
I agree...it's going to be brought up a lot in the campaign against them. It's a weakness for sure and it will be exploited. McCain is old..he might kick the bucket in 2-3 years and she would then become President. Would anyone really feel she is at this point in her career a good candidate for President?
dgun Wrote:Maybe Stoner, but what I said was it was the only legit issue that was working.
Negative. I'll say it again one more time so pay attention. There are
tons of legit issues to bash Hussein Obama on. The experience issue is the least of anyones worries.
Quote:She was a mayor of a town of 5,000 people.
So? Size doesn't matter. How many people has Obama been the governor?
Quote:She has been the Governor of Alaska, a small state population wise, for 2 years.
Again, you have a size issue. I'm guessing it's a personal problem but in regards to this conversation it has no leg to stand on. Alaska is huge and there's a lot more to governing the state than just the number of citizens.
Quote:Seriously Stoner, all political bullshit aside for a moment, you would be comfortable based on her experience to have her as the leader of the free world?
Seriously, Dgun, all political bullshit aside, yes I would. I would
love to see her POTUS. She has everything anyone would want in a President.
Quote:Now, it could very well be that she has the talent, skill, intelligence to be an effective President if McCain bites the dust. But there is no way by any objective measure one can say she has the experience.
Of course she does. We already discussed this. Are you even trying to pay attention? I'll say it again for the slower kids in class.
She has been in elective office longer than Obama and has more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined!
Roger that, son?
Quote:And that's the big problem with this from a political strategy point of view. Trying to criticize Obama about experience now will fall on deaf ears in the face of the Palin pick.
Again, she has more experience than Comrade Obama. And we also discussed how Obama has far more issues hindering him than his lack of experience.
If you're confused on anything raise your hand for assistance.
Quote:You guys can try to spin her as having tons of experience all you want, but I'm telling you it is not going to work.
It doesn't have to "work." It's fact. No trying neccessary. Sorry to burst your liberal bubble.
Quote:Barring some disaster by the Obama campaign, McCain has pretty much handed the white house to Obama by choosing Palin. Honestly, it's so huge in my mind I'm wondering if McCain really wants to be elected now.
This election is over. Palin is such a huge pick the Comrade Obama and Joe "I'm the Most Boring Human on the Planet Next to Al Gore" Biden have descended into a nosedive that Chuck Yaegar couldn't even pull out of.
The libbie plane has crashed and burned, Goose. Dismissed.

Not trying to rub it in, but did I not call this one?
