Well, I am Epistemological Nihilist, I believe in this because frankly, you cannot prove anything. It's all someones opinion, you can't even define opinion. It's basically human ignorance, because we came and made up a language and assumed we were correct while talking, but that is just self-centered IMO.
I am a Quaker, which is a rather odd religion. But that's all right, since I'm a rather odd person. It's basically Christianity mixed with Eastern religions, and it's the only thing that fits me well.
I would ask how you guys can ignore the teachings of the Bible which was written in Koine Greek, a language that has been dead since shortly after the books of the New Testament were penned. We don't have to worry about some modern individual having "made up" anything as the text can be translated quite easily.
How exactly with that in mind is religion supposed to fit you instead of you fitting it? Who is the object of worship after all.

I'm not 100% sure if you're addressing me/only me/me at all, so I apologize if you're not... I personally don't believe everything written in the Bible, especially not in a literal way, because the Bible was written by human beings, who are flawed. And there are some parts of the Bible I just don't agree with.
As for the fitting thing, I don't follow a religion for that religion's sake. I was born and raised Catholic, but I came up with my own personal set of beliefs because I didn't agree with everything the Catholic church said. One day I started reading about Quakerism and I realized it matched with my own personal beliefs almost perfectly, and so that's now what I call myself.

Oh....this is your way of getting off-topic and dodging the question.
So I'll put us back on topic and say I am a Christian, and I belong to a local Baptist church. This church is unbelievably cool!
And Boogy, many roads lead to God. It's not up to you to judge any path. Jesus said, "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
And before you fuss, Boogy, that comes from Matthew 7:1-2 in the King James version of the Bible.
Look it up.
Folks, only you know what path is right for you. None of us can judge you. So believe how you will, and bless you all always.
Purrs,
Pookie

Oh, really? Is your response your way of showing you don't have a clue about religion?

I know this scripture well Pook, you should read it in context and stop trying to twist it.
When you have actually read that passage without attempt to twist it you will see that it is telling people to be prepared to judge with the same judgment that they will be judged. It is instructing us as to what standard we should use to judge, God's word.
We are most certainly to make judgments.
John 7:24 Wrote:Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
There is ONE road to God, you need to study to see this fact.
John 14:6 Wrote:Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Once again, this is false doctrine, Pook. I have shown that clearly.

What makes you think, though, that you have a choice as to what passages of the Bible you are able to pick and choose from, Spirit?
2 Tim 3:16-17 Wrote:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Let me ask it this way, what is religion for?
Roman Catholicism - this and Lutheranism are the true religions of the racial Germans

Well, I can only believe what I can believe. There are some things in the Bible I just can't buy into. I can't believe that "God is love" and He condemns His children to eternal suffering (hell) when He sees fit at the same time. So, I don't believe in hell. I could lie about it and go along with it, but on the inside, I would always secretly disagree. And I think going along with a belief just because you feel you should isn't true religion. It cheapens it, makes it phony. Maybe I'm completely wrong and everything in the Bible is 100% accurate, but I just can't buy into it all. That's just me.

I think religion is different things for different people. I think some people use religion for emotional support, some follow it for a sense of tradition and heritage, but most of all, I think religion is for answering the big questions such as "why am I here?" I personally use religion to make sense of the world, but others might use it for different reasons.

I think you have things a bit backwards. God set forth the way we are to live and when we run afoul of that it is WE who condemn ourselves if we refuse to return to His path.

What good is a religion with no direction? How can you know when you are right and wrong? It sounds more like you adhere to humanism more than anything else if you are saying that you are the final arbiter of right and wrong.
