We're not saying that 100% of all gay people are genetically defected. We are saying that there are some who are truly affected like a disorder and some who are really straight genetically but all weird in the head; just like how bi-polarness and ADD is connected to a lot of people, but in reality very little are really genetically affected by it.
Obviously, an "ex-gay" isn't really genetically affected by it but psychologically affected by it. It explains how straight men decide to turn gay in jail.
AIDS the homosexuals developed it.
Yeah, those gay scientists worked for months in that lab.
Seriously though, no one is really sure how AIDs came to be. Some think that it started when someone fucked a monkey in Africa and picked something up that humans couldn't handle. Others think that it was a side effect from Polio vaccinations given to Africans.
Now now, sonny, we all no AIDs came from those good for nothing homosexual whores. What proof do you have they didn't come from a gay bastard?

Wow, Grandma Fields, coming out of left field on that one lol.
Who says that AIDS came from homosexuals? Homosexuality isn't new, it's thousands of years old. No reason to play the blame game for AIDS, truth is, its here, and we've got to deal with it.
A bit of a dirty mouth for a grandmother, eh Mrs. Fields?
Yes, it should be legalized.
- But "it's against the Bible" argument: Whatever happened to the separation of Church and State in America? That separation says that religion can't make laws. Not everyone's religion is the same. I could say that, in my religion, if people don't sacrifice goats once a year humanity will end. So then does that mean that I can make a law telling people that they must sacrifice a goat once a year? No. It's the exact same thing with gay marriage. The Bible says it's wrong. The Christian Bible, and not everyone is Christian.
Also, the Bible says a lot of things... just to name a few....
1) Don't wear clothes made of more than one fabric.
2) Any person who curses his mother or father must be killed.
3) If a man has sex with a woman on her period, they are both to be cut off from other people.
4) People who have flat noses cannot go to an alter of God.
5) Don't have a variety of crops on the same field.
For some reason, we don't enforce these. Show me a person who follows all the rules of the Bible literally and then maybe I'll listen to that argument.
- The "it's not natural" argument: Actually, homosexuality has been found in many species of animals other than humans. It's not like humans are the only species that do this. And even if we were the only ones to do so, so what? It's not natural to build cars and computers. Maybe we just shouldn't do those things?
- The "but it's a genetic disease" argument: Right, so because they have a "disease", they shouldn't get the same rights as people who don't. Kind of like how we don't give people with mental disorders or physical disabilities the same rights.
- But "it's their choice to be gay" argument: Why the heck would anyone choose this? Okay, let's go through the torture of being rejected by a pretty huge portion of society, just for the hell of it. Personally, I'm glad that, on that day I woke up and chose my sexual preference, I went with the flow and chose to be straight. Give me a break. It's not a choice any more than it is a choice to be straight.
I might start by saying that I myself, am gay, and I see nothing wrong with my sexuality, and never have. There are many arguements against homosexuality, but these are mainly from religious people.
I am not religious, therefore your religion has nothing to do with my sexuality. Your religion tells you that my sexuality is wrong, but my non religion tells me my sexuality is right - so who is right, and who is wrong?
If homosexuals are allowed the right to marry, how does that affect you? How will it affect your life, other than the fact that it may offend you? What will change? Would you wake up the next morning and find the entire universe has stopped spinning because we've granted legal rights to homosexuals?
Everyone has differing opinions on what is right and wrong - just because your religion may tell you something is wrong, doesn't mean it is. Spirit made a wonderful post above me, and he/she makes many good points.
I will finish up by asking this: What right do you have to tell me who I can marry?

So which is it? You are saying it is not genetic, but you are also saying it is not a choice. You can not be on both sides of the fence. Pick one.

I wasn't stating what I believe is the cause of homosexuality. I was just listing all the arguments I've heard against gay marriage and saying what I think of those arguments.
If you want to know what I think the cause is, however, I would say it is genetic, but I wouldn't call it a "disease."
I don’t have one problem with gay people and lesbians, but I do not think that they should get married.
Marriage is a symbol between a male and a female. If gay people and lesbians want to get married, then maybe call it something else.
If so many gay people want to get married so badly, then they would gladly accept this.

I would be all right with calling it something else, but as long as gay couples would get the same benefits as married couples. The only problem with calling it something else is it's sort of following the "separate but equal" philosophy, which never works. It would open the doors for discrimination by giving it a different title.
If you don't have a problem with gay people, then why can't you support marriage between them? People say all the time that "marriage is between a man and a woman", but I really don't understand that thinking. Marriage is just a license. A man and a woman can live together for years like a married couple and never be "married." So can two gay people. Marriage is just a label; it doesn't dictate what is between two people.
Unfortunately, fifty percent of all marriages end in divorce in the USA. It's not like keeping it between only a man and a woman is keeping it sacred.
The bible is a poor reference when trying to determine what laws should be applied in the USA.
