So are you guys saying that they should have the same benefits but just not "called" marriage?
I think that if they were faced with the problems that Jacob mentioned, then they should have the authority to make decisions for the medical and house thing. If only the insurance companies could make an exception for gay people...

I think the word marriage is a bit skewed. To be married, you need a state document. Yet, to be married, it's 'religious.' So, in that discussion alone, it's slightly skewed. A religious, state document? Uh...How does that work? I think that the way it should be determined is that each individual church should gauge whether they allow a Gay marriage in THEIR church. If the Minister of one churchs says, "Hey, we're accepting here, feel free to marry here," then they should be allowed to. I think that the term 'married' should be a term determined by the individuals and the church in which they are getting married under. But, as for the same rights, I believe that they should be granted them. Like them or not, they are still humans in America and should be given the same rights.

Yesterday I just went on a religious debate on gay marriage. I'm still at it right now... but anyway,I came to the conclusion that legal discrimination against gay marriages is "unloving" so therefore, I'll concede that gay CIVIL lifetime partnership can be legalized. But we can't call it marriage since it's not God who join the couple together.

Maybe I shouldn't put my faith on a secular debate but it's reasonable.

LOL, I don't understand you gay supporters. I don't understand why you would support something that goes against science and what God has created. The only reason why there are two genders is for one gender to commune with an opposite gender to reproduce and live together. Homosexuals are defying this concept, and they are spreading thier ideas to other people who have not been touched by this sin. Letting the gay people get married is just a way for them to express and make others follow their examples of defying the laws of human anatomy. I say we need to stop this before it gets out of control.

I'm not saying we should stop them by force, I'm saying we stop them by legal means.

This is about saving humanity, so we must take action and stop these crimes against humanity from getting any worse then it already is. LOL!

First and foremost I believe in Humanity. I believe in letting people be happy. Let them be happy and mind your own business. I mean really, they don't tell you who you can and cannot sleep with. Stop using science when you don't know what you're talking about. I'm pretty bad at science, but the bull you are sprouting doesn't make any sense. And stop throwing "society" into the argument. I'm more then willing to bet that none of you have ever taken a soc. class. Of course allowing gay marriage would change society, but change isn't a bad thing.

Too much change is bad. Where do you draw the line? When do you say .. "That's going too far."? That is what scares me. That people will just accept EVERYTHING. And don't say 'that wont happen,' because 60 years ago, this damned debate would have 'never happened!'

So where to we draw the line? When do we say no?

I agree completely, somehow I don't visualize Amercian society crumbling to gay marriage, I could see it fall to deficit spending, Middle East adventures with American troops, etc. What people don't seem to understand is, it doesn't affect society AT ALL, for people to be so concerned about CHANGE, when some of the most horrific changes have occurred, what with neo-cons preparing a war with Iran, and everything else thats killing America. This is just a smoke-screen to blind us from other, more threatening issues.

I would like the gay supporters to stop calling the others "close minded". In this debate, we are all close minded, or intolerant to the beliefs and opinions of others. They won't listen to us, and we won't listen to them. Therefore, don't use the word, as you guys aren't listening to us as much as we are listening to you.

I'm new to this and all, so don't get mad at me for agreeing with David and Mr. Joker, but didn't the gays spread HIV and AIDS. AIDS and HIV did originate with monkeys in Africa, and because of a gay action humans are subjected to a new disease.

So isn't being homosexual causing more people to be ill? Isn't it the cause of all this suffering with AIDS and HIV?

LOL! Finally someone agrees with me. LOL! That is true, gays were the one to spread Hiv and aids. LOL!

We need to an end the suffering of the people who have to endured the painful affects aids, and once again bring humanity to the way it was supposed to be run as. LOL!
