I was looking up what the worst sin to commit, thinking of murder and I came up with different ones with different religions. In your opinion, what is the worst sin to commit?
In the Roman Catholic church, the church I belong to, the sin of presumption is the worst, because you presume that because God is a merciful and loving God, you can sin but in the end He will forgive you. In other words, you sin in the expectation of being forgiven.
Well all sins are bad but in Catholicism it's the seven deadly sins that will place your immortal soul in jeapordy.

Wiki quote:

Quote:Listed in the same order used by both Pope Gregory the Great in the 6th Century AD, and later by Dante Alighieri in his epic poem The Divine Comedy, the seven deadly sins are as follows: Luxuria (extravagance, later lust), Gula (gluttony), Avaritia (greed), Acedia (sloth), Ira (wrath), Invidia (envy), and Superbia (pride). Each of the seven deadly sins has an opposite among the corresponding seven holy virtues (sometimes also referred to as the contrary virtues). In parallel order to the sins they oppose, the seven holy virtues are chastity, abstinence, temperance, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility.

I would have to go with murder.
1 John 5:17 tells us "All unrighteousness is sin." God doesn't seem to make the distinction that man does as He tells us clearly that sin is just that, sin.

In human terms, one sin may have more consequences that another, but I don't think a scriptural case can be made for it being that way in the eyes of God.

Well in God's eyes is one thing but imho the 7 deadlies represent the easiest sins to commit which makes them so deadly. Greed, Envy, Lust, and Glutony are some of those that people are committing every day and without repentence.

So worst sin imho is the easist sins to commit.

The old testament and the 10 commandments list is very easy to follow for the most part. Heck...even the new testament is even easier. Jesus basically tells us to love others. But in the bible there are references to many other things that might anger God or be sinful. The list is nearly exhaustive. Then of course we have prophets and new churches that think up new sins every couple decades or reinterpret existing ones.
The bible says blasphemy against the holy spirit.
I think murder is definitely the worst sin to commit.

The New Testament makes it pretty clear that sin separates you from God. Since all unrighteousness is sin, and the consequences are the same, how could one sin be worse than another? There may be more earthly consequences for a specific sin such as murder, but in the eyes of God and in light of the souls condition no sin is worse than another.
I'd have to agree with Boogy on that. Doesn't the Bible say somewhere that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the only unpardonable sin? If that's true, then it might be that sin.
