Are Muslims ALLOWED to believe in the Big Bang and Evolution?
OK, i have been having this BIG debate with my friend whitch is saying "Muslims are allowed to believe in the big bang and Evolution cause it clearly says it in the Koran". I am like WTF! NOOO, i know so many Muslims that say HELL no to evolution and idk about the big bang" My friend Moahmad and even his friend said Muslims don't believe in the evolution or the big bang, but my friend just incest that they DO! He said " You can believe in it if you wish to or not" i am like " WTF! ARE YOU CRAZY, THAT MAKES NO SENSE" PLZZZZZ can some one on here tell me the truth, and if you could believe in it and not to at the same time i am sorry but Islam is a very unorganized and unstable relgion not to offend any one!

It's ok to believe it as long as you don't use it to Blaspheme or to invalidate anything written in the Koran or any of the other holy scriptures.

RE: Are Muslims ALLOWED to believe in the Big Bang and Evolution?
Ace, no worries. Muslims and Christians alike have had to think about these other theories.
These theories are out there for us to contemplate, and decide for ourselves what we feel is right. This part of free agency we are given, and the ability to discern what is right for ourselves and ourselves only. But I can say most Muslims and Christians do not believe in the Big Bang or evolution. Don't worry about these folks who say things that disturb you. Search your own heart, know what you believe, and understand that not everyone will ever believe the same things you believe. Purrs, Pookie

RE: Are Muslims ALLOWED to believe in the Big Bang and Evolution?
Hi. I am new here. My first post.
If a friend sends you a letter in which he/she talks about their journey to Asia, you expect that the description of his/her journey is realistic and must conform with your knowledge of Asia. This friend may know more than you know about Asia from his/her journey. You can validate some of his/her writing by the extent of your prior knowledge of Asia. The rest is accepted based on your degree of trust in this friend. Your friend could tell you of an exotic experience or a strange ritual he/she observed that is beyond your grasp because you have been raised in a difference culture and a different norm, or you have not heard about this experience from a trusted source (i suppose the media or a book). Yet, you trust that you are receiving this letter from a trustworthy friend. To make this example more interesting, this friend is someone you met online and only knew through correspondence. No physical contact or meeting whatsoever. Similarly, Quran is a message from God to humanity. If God is the creator and maintainer of the universe, any reference He makes in this message about the universe must be realistic and conform with what we know. Yet, we keep in mind that our prior knowledge of the universe may not be enough to validate every reference made to the universe in this message. So, we try to consolidate scientific validity with faith in God, just as we would do in the case of the friend and the letter. If you are a believer, you would try to consolidate these verses with science while noting that the language of Quran does not contain man-made scientific jargon. Especially that it was sent first to nomadic people in the isolated desert of Arabia 1400 years ago. To answer your question specifically, Quran says that God create man from clay and blew soul into him and he became alive. He was with God in heavens before he descended to Earth along with Eve. As for animals, God says in Quran: And Allah has created every animal from water: of them there are some that creep on their bellies; some that walk on two legs; and some that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills for verily Allah has power over all things. (24:45) The word "create" does not necessarily means creation with a "magic wound." It could involve a process administered by God just like the creation of the universe and development of human embryo. Quran says about embryology: Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! (23:14) here are some verses on Big Bang and Big Crunch: Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? (21:30) With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace. (51:47) That Day We will fold up heaven like folding up the pages of a book. As We originated the first creation so We will regenerate it. It is a promise binding on Us. That is what We will do. (21:104) i hope this was informative |

God made Texas almost perfect, but gave us 'skeeters, gators. rattlesnakes, LIB DIMS and LIB PUBS, ( still rattlesnakes ), so we wouldn't think we were already in Heaven.

It's because in the Koran the word day can be used for any length of time so it could mean 15 billion years.

RE: Are Muslims ALLOWED to believe in the Big Bang and Evolution?
I suspect that there are a wide variety of beliefs concerning Evolution in Islam, just like in Christianity.
Undoubtably, there are very many Muslims who are Theistic Evolutionists, but there are some very extreme Fundamentalists who are totally opposed to the idea of Evolution. Have a look at this site. acekard ds |
